The Medal of Honor Society’s 2010 National Convention

“I think it [the Medal of Honor 2010 convention] will be one of the finest hours in America.”
– Rita Cosby, New York Times bestselling author and three-time Emmy Award winner

Welcome Letter

WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE MEDAL OF HONOR SOCIETY’S NATIONAL CONVENTION slated to be held Sept. 29—Oct. 3, 2010 in the beautiful, historic, southeastern coastal city of Charleston, South Carolina.

Please take a moment to browse and enjoy some of our web features, convention-related articles and updates all with a focus on the story of America’s highest military award for valor in combat, the Medal of Honor (known unofficially as the Congressional Medal of Honor), and the 91 living recipients of the Medal of Honor. Always check back for updates.

Also, please visit our sponsors page to learn more about how you may become a sponsor or partner of the Medal of Honor 2010 convention. Or you may simply donate electronically through our secure page.

The Medal of Honor Society’s 2010 Convention will be hosted by the South Carolina State Guard Foundation (the SCSG is one of our nation’s oldest, most respected state defense forces) and the Citadel (the Military College of South Carolina). But the convention executive committee needs you – those who truly appreciate and support our greatest national treasure, our living recipients of the Medal and the men and women in uniform, serving worldwide, whom those recipients support – to partner with us. We have numerous sponsorship opportunities available at all levels.

Pulitzer Prize winning columnist Kathleen Parker writes of our Medal of Honor recipients:

“It is hard to know what makes a man charge off into the maw of near-certain death to save another. But hearing these heroes speak and reading their stories, two common characteristics stand out – humility and modesty.”

Brig. Gen. Eugene F. Rogers, senior project chairman of the Medal of Honor 2010 Convention, says:

“It is absolutely essential to the moral health and strength of this nation, especially in this time of war, that we increase the awareness of who these men are and why they – not some celebrity or sports star – are the true heroes of America.”
